The Process – Walkout Basement Construction

Stage1. Consultation and Planning:

Stage 2. Design and Permitting:

Stage 3. Excavation & Demolition:
Once you have the necessary permits, we’ll prepare for construction. We may use an excavator or do manual excavation work, form footings, and get approval from the City or an engineer before pouring the footings.
Stage 4: Block Work:
After the footings have time to cure, we’ll lay new concrete block work.
Stage 5: Waterproofing & Parging:
Multiple layers of waterproofing membrane will be applied to prevent moisture from getting into the walls.
Stage 6 : Drainage System Installation:
We’ll install weeping tiles and ensure they stay clear of debris. If needed, we can also install a sump pump.
Stage7: Concrete Stairs & Landing:
Once prep work is done, we’ll pour concrete stairs and a landing for the walkout.
Stage 8: Finishing Touches:
We’ll add handrails, install basement door openings, and do landscaping or build retaining walls as needed to complete the look of your basement walkout.
